Introduction of the School of Information Science and Engineering

The School of Information Science and Engineering at Linyi University was established in 1992, and is home to the department of Computer Engineering, the Department of Software Engineering, the Department of Communication Engineering, the Department of Network and Information Engineering, the Department of General Education, and the Department of Commuter Training and Test. It offers four bachelor’s degrees majoring in Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Internet Engineering, and Communication Engineering. The school has 97 faculty and staff members, including 10 professors, 32 associate professors and 46 lectures. The faculty holds 25 doctoral and 60 master’s degrees. The school hosts 8 visiting professors, one professor of practice, and 6 domestic and foreign lecturers. 1980 undergraduates, 41 postgraduate candidates and 17 foreign students have enrolled in the school.

 

There are seven research institutes running in the school including Shandong Provincial Key Laboratory for Network Based Intelligent Computing, Key Laboratory for Complex Systems and Intelligent Computing in Universities of Shandong, Linyi Research Center for Logistics Information Engineering and Technology, Linyi Research Center for Cyber Security Engineering and Technology, Center for Block Chain Cooperative Innovation, Linyi Engineering Laboratory for Data Analyzing and Intelligent Computing, Linyi Key Laboratory for Security of Industrial IoT.

 

Currently three projects are hosted by professor teams, which is funded by the Chinese Nature Science Foundation, eight projects funded by the Nature Science Foundation of Shandong Province, and an application project integrating production and teaching supported by the national 13th five-year plan. In most recent years, professors in the School has published more than 200 papers indexed by SCI and EI, has held more than 20 patents, has been funded 6.5 million yuan of research spending, and has been rewarded with six awards in scientific advancement.
